I've been having a very busy life the last few weeks, but I did manage to get 6 or 7 new chapters posted.
The foundations have been laid and now Denethor and Findulas are charging ahead in their relationship. Well, kind of. They are certainly charging ahead.
The relationship between Denethor and Thorongil also plunges headlong towards its destiny, but in an unexpected way. This is one of the old tropes of the fandom that is usually flogged beyond death and into puree, that there was constant discord between these two and that Denethor was the one causing it. There's also the presumption that Denethor's resentment is rooted in his fear of losing Gondor to the usurper. I give it a twist and make it more complex than that - what do you do when the other guy can simply wave and say "Hasta la bye bye!" when he's had enough of death and despair?
I am only posting chapter beginnings on A03 now, and linking back to Rómenna. I really dislike their system.
